Pakistan in May: Trekking Season Opens, K2 Base Camp, and Khunjerab Pass Clears

May opens Pakistan’s most spectacular chapter: the high mountains. Khunjerab Pass — the Chinese border crossing at 4,693m — clears and opens for the season. What to Do

The scale is incomprehensible until you’re in it. Start from Skardu, fly or drive. Require a licensed guide, porter, and cook.
